Visualizing Complex Elements
|
|
|
Some elements of floor plans and elevation drawings are difficult to understand, especially when multiple floors are involved, such as stairways, balconies, and bridges. Elevations can be very confusing when the plan contains angled walls or elements which are hidden behind closer structures, such as alcoves.

This design contained 6 separate buildings connected with covered walkways. Traditional elevations would not convey the overall design as well as a overview rendering

Overviews help show the entire residence. Because of the various angles in the wings of the house, traditional elevations are often difficult to understand.

This curved staircase with the large central column and the unique landing were difficult to understand from the traditional 2D architectural drawings.

3D renderings help you understand complex structures, such as this dining room opening out into the two story entrance hall with the curved stairway and balcony above.
The balcony opens onto the family room with 20 foot high ceilings.

This is another example of a circular staircase set in a turret structure with a balcony overlooking the two-story open space of the entry hall.

3D cutaway renderings help show the relationship of the spaces with the home design.

If topography is a major consideration, 3D renderings show you how the house will sit on the property. While you would never see the structure from this perspective, it clearly shows how it will be constructed.

You can request specific angles for viewing your new residence. Here the overall affect of the tree story portion of the house and the retaining walls are easily appreciated in this view.

Ceiling treatments are usually dotted lines on the floor plan. The 3D rendering can show the overall look of the ceiling treatment.

You can see important elements throughout your plan from different perspectives, both inside and outside of the house.

You can see the house as it will look at night as well as in the daytime.
